As part of my wider work in designing and delivering enterprise support, I delivered Business Basics workshop series, a one-day, interactive session delivered monthly over 12 months to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the core skills to start a successful business. Eventually recruited for 1:1 Business Support led by Business Coaches within my previous organisation at Business Launchpad.
Pre-Programme Delivery
- Developed a foundational workshop designed for individuals at the ideation stage, focusing on practical tools for starting a business on a limited budget.
- Recruited 80 aspiring entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds, promoting accessibility and inclusive participation.
- Created a session framework centred on key areas: revenue generation, cost control, and business model planning using the Business Model Canvas.
Mid-Programme Delivery
- Delivered 12 engaging workshops across the year, using real-life examples, collaborative activities, and interactive exercises to boost learner engagement.
- Supported participants in identifying customer needs, maximising resources, and developing value-led business strategies.
- Fostered an open, peer-supported environment to encourage idea sharing and confidence-building.
End of Programme Delivery
- Equipped participants with practical strategies and templates to launch and structure their businesses effectively.
- 50 participants (62.5%) enrolled in a 12-month one-to-one business coaching programme as a direct outcome of the workshop showing clear impact and continued progression.
- Created a pipeline of early-stage founders moving into deeper business development support.
This workshop gave new entrepreneurs a clear, simple understanding of how to get started in business. Out of 80 attendees, 50 went on to join a year-long 1:1 business support to develop their ideas further. They left the session with practical tools to plan their business, manage costs, and start building something real regardless of their starting point or budget.
